Abstract

The traditional children's songs education had faced the crisis of severance after going through the blooming age and then having the Japanese occupation by force period. Gaehwa Lyrics(the changed form of the traditional lyrics), Shincheshi(the poetry which was influenced by the Japanese poetry formats), and Changga had been carried in the school textbooks during the Blooming Period. In the same period, a number of the translated foreign poetry were introduced in the magazine titled ‘Sonyeon’(1908), showing the favorable trend toward the ways of the various poetry education. But Changgas contained in the textbooks were combined with the existing music textbook called ‘Botong kyoyuk changgajib’ which was published just before the Korea-Japan Annexation and played a role to unify the nature of the then poetry education to the Japanese-styled Changga education. There had been no proper poetry education but the Japanese-styled Changga education within the school system for a decade since the Korea-Japan Annexation.Nam-sun Choi, even in these educational realities, had made every effort to boost the pure Korean Changga education by publishing ‘Bulgeun Jeogori’(1913), ‘Aeedleboyi’(1913), ‘Cheongchoon’(1914) and many other magazines. He also contained the revised version of our traditional folk tales as Donghwayo in the magazines such as ‘Aeedleboyi’(1913) and ‘Saebyul’(1914). His efforts concerning the Japanese-styled Changga education had a great significance as a resistant poetry education which was developed in the civil sectors, by forming a great source of resistance discussion, and was also a determined expression to succeed to the pure childlike heart which was incorporated in the traditional children's songs.
