부정문의 중의성과 동의성 양상에 대한 연구

본고에서는 국어 부정문에서 나타나는 중의성과 동의성의 양상을 파악하기 위해서 설문지를 이용하여 조사하였다. 부정문에 두 가지 유형이 존재한다는 것은 국어의 중요한 특징 중의 하나인데 이 두 부정문의 의미 관계에서 가장 중요하게 논의되어 온 문제 중의 하나가 바로 두 유형의 중의성과 동의성에 대한 것이다. 이번 조사를 통해 밝힌 내용을 간단히 정리하면 다음과 같다. ① 두 부정문은 의미 측면에서 거의 차이가 없다. 즉 동의성을 갖는다. ② 두 부정문은 중의성의 측면에서 살펴보아도 차이가 없다. ③ 수량사가 포함된 부정문의 경우 두 유형 모두 전체 부정으로 파악하는 경향이 있다. ④ 부정의 대상에 대한 인식에서 남성보다 여성이 두 유형에 관계 없이 더 민감하다. ⑤ 두 부정문의 의미적 차이는 부정의 인식 차이 정도이며, 이는 종속절이 포함된 문장에서 가장 두드러지게 나타난다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to survey the aspect of ambiguity and synonymy in Korean negative sentences by the use of questionnaire. The fact that Korean negative sentences have two types(short Negation and long Negation) is one of the most important characteristics in Korean language. Although ambiguity and synonymy of two types has been an object of study for a long time, there is little agreement. The following results were obtained, as analyzing statistical data ①There is almost no difference in semantic relation of two types. Two types are synonymy relation. ② Two types have no difference in terms of ambiguity. ③Two types have a tendency to being recognized total-negation in case of negative sentences that have ‘quantifier’ ④women are more sensitive than men in cognition on the object of negation ⑤The difference between two types is only a degree of cognition about negation. This difference become the most clear in case of negative sentences that have a subordinate clause
