이 연구는 스마트 디바이스를 활용하여 손글씨 쓰기 과정의 자동화 기록을 위한 가능성을 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 손글씨 쓰기의 전사 기록은 필자의 작문 과정에 대한 기록이다. 이 과정을 살펴보는 것은 다양한 가치를 지닌다. 하지만 손글씨 쓰기의 중요성에 대한 인식의 부족과 그 과정을 관찰하기 위한 적절한 연구 도구의 부재로 그 과정을 관찰하기 어려웠다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스마트 펜을 활용하여 필자의 손글씨 쓰기과정에 대한 자동화 기록을 위한 가능성을 탐구하였다. 스마트 펜은 자체에 내장된 적외선카메라나 광학센서, 전자기파(EMR) 등의 첨단 기술을 활용하여 펜 촉의 벡터(vector)값을 추적할 수 있다. 이를 통해 펜의 궤적, 즉 손글씨 쓰기 과정을 시간적, 공간적으로 기록할 수 있게 된다. 이렇게 얻은 손글씨 쓰기 과정에 대한 기록은 필자의 특성을 탐구하고, 쓰기 발달 단계를 가늠하며, 중재를 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of present study is to explore the possibilities for automated recording of handwriting by utilizing smart devices. The transcript record of handwriting is a record of one’s writing process. Observing this process has various values. However, it was difficult to observe the process due to the lack of awareness of the importance of handwriting and the lack of appropriate research tools to observe the process. Therefore, this study explored the possibilities for automated recording of my handwriting using smartpen. The SmartPen can track the vector value of the pen’s movement by using its own built-in infrared camera, optical sensor, electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and other advanced technologies. Thus, it is possible to record the trajectory of the pen, that is, the handwriting-writing process, temporally and spatially. The record of the handwriting process thus obtained can be used as a basis for exploring the characteristics of the writer, measuring the developmental stage of the writing, and intervention.
