十六世紀末朝鮮士大夫在異國的佛教經驗 -以魯認與姜沆爲中心-

Abstract

There was one year difference in Kanghang’s and NoIn’s ages. They were all captured in “Second War of Jeong-yu”and sent to Japan. And the times they arrived in Japan were similar. However, NoIn absconded to Fujian, China at last and lived there for about 4 months until he returned to homeland in Dec. 1599. Kanghang was released in Apr. 1600 and returned to Korean dynasty by passing Tsushima Island. The difference is that one person left behind GeomKye Diary with the records of Fujian, China, and one person left behind Kanyang Note with the records of Japanese cultural relic, system and territory situations, etc. It could be learnt from these two documents that, the attitudes toward Buddhism of Korean scholars, Ming dynasty officials and Japanese officials are different. Ming dynasty officials held inclusive view of religion that Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism could intermingle. NoIn and Korean officials held repulsive view of religion that Confucianism is overwhelming and the heresy should be attacked. Japan held the view of Confucianism and Buddhism’s intermingle. It is certainly that Buddhist Monks had high social position. The Buddhist situation of Korea contrasted sharply with Ming dynasty and Japan.
