맞벌이 가구 젠더체제 유형과 여성의 일-삶 경험의 차이

이 연구는 부부간 유급노동과 무급노동의 분배방식의 차이에 근거하여 맞벌이 가구 젠더체제를 경험적으로 유형화하고, 각 가구 유형의 사회경제적 특성과 여성의 일-삶 경험의 차이를 분석하였다. 부인과 남편 각각의 절대적 유/무급 노동 시간과 부부간 상대적 분담정도 등 6개의 군집변수(clustering variables)에 기초하여 군집분석(cluster analysis)을 시행한 결과 잠재적 2인 양육자, 수정 남성 부양자, 잠재적 보편적 부양자 등 세 가지 유형의 군집이 추출되었다. 세 집단 중 잠재적 2인 양육자 체제 가구와 보편적 부양자 체제 가구의 사회경제적 특성의 차이가 분명하게 드러났다. 잠재적 2인 양육자 체제 가구는 30대 젊은층과 고학력자로 구성되어 있으며, 부인의 성평등 의식은 상대적으로 진보적이다. 부인과 남편이 모두 사무직에 정규직으로 종사하며 특히 부인의 소득이 고소득인 경우가 많다. 이에 비해 보편적 부양자 체제 가구는 고졸이하의 40대가 주를 이루며 부인의 성평등 의식은 보수적이다. 부부가 모두 판매/서비스/생산직과 같이 낮은 지위의 직업에 종사하는 경우가 많고 이들의 종사상 지위는 고용주 또는 자영업자이다. 여성의 일-삶 경험의 측면에서 볼 때 잠재적 보편적 부양자 체제 가구의 여성은 일-가족 역할갈등, 일-가족의 부정적 전이, 시간부족, 직장-가정-삶의 만족도 등 모든 측면에서 다른 유형의 가구보다 부정적인 상황에 놓여 있는 것으로 나타났다.
