학령기 남녀 아동의 일상적 생활 스트레스의 유형별 수준 및 우울에 미치는 영향

이 연구는 일상에서의 생활 스트레스가 증가하는 초등학교 6학년 남녀 아동의 효과적인 스트레스 관리에 도움을 주고자, 성별에 따른 일상적 생활 스트레스 유형별 수준 및 아동의 우울에 대한 일상적 생활 스트레스 유형의 상대적 영향력을 규명하려 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 초등학교 6학년 남녀 아동 321명을 대상으로 일상적 생활 스트레스 척도 및 우울 척도를 이용하여 설문지 조사를 실시하였다. 분석방법은 다변량분석, 반복설계에 의한 변량분석, 피어슨의 적률상관관계, 중회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 학령기 아동의 부모관련, 친구소외관련, 친구공격관련, 학업관련 그리고 교사관련 스트레스는 성별에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 특히 친구공격관련 스트레스는 남아가 여아에 비해 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 여아에 비해 또래간 공격적 상호작용이 이루어지기 쉬운 남아들은 친구의 공격적 태도에 보다 많이 노출됨으로 인해 이와 관련된 스트레스를 보다 많이 경험한다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 학령기 아동은 남녀아 모두 학업관련 스트레스를 가장 유의성 높게 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학업관련 스트레스가 가장 높게 나타난 것은 초등학교 때의 좋은 성적이 상급학교 진학과 밀접히 연계되어 있다는 생각과 함께 좋은 성적을 유지해야 한다는 부담이 초등학교 고학년이 되면서 구체화된 것이라 보여진다. 셋째, 학령기 아동의 우울은 남녀 아동 모두 부모관련과 친구소외관련 스트레스에 의해 상대적으로 더 많이 위협받는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 남아의 경우 여아와 달리 우울이 부모관련과 친구소외관련 스트레스 외에 학업관련 스트레스에 의해서도 유의하게 위협받는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate school age boys and girls' stress in daily stress types and theirs influences on depression. The subjects were 321 elementary school students who lived in Seoul. The data were analyzed by MANOVA, Repeated MANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression(using SPSS 15.0). Major findings were as follows: 1) There was a gender difference in peer aggression related-stress. School age boys experienced higher levels of peer aggression related-stress than did girls. 2) Both school age boys and girls perceived academy related-stress as the highest stress among the daily stress types. 3) Among the daily stress types, parent related-, academy related- and peer alienation related-stress were more influential predictor on school age boys' depression. For school age girls, parent related- and peer alienation related-stress were more influential predictor on depression.
