이 논문에서 우리는 금융투자로 인해 실물투자(유형자산투자)가 위축되었다는 금융화론자들의 주장이 한국에도 적용될 수 있는지 검토하였다. 기존 논의와 달리, 외국금융기관, 국내금융기관, 국민연금 등에 의한 기업소유구조 변화를 변수화하여 실증분석에 포함시켰다. 또한 포트폴리오 목적의 금융자산투자와 기업지배목적의 관계기업투자 및 종속기업투자를 구분한 뒤 이들의 관계를 실증분석하였다. 이러한 조사를 통해 금융자산투자에 의해 실물투자가 구축되었다는 금융화론자들의 주장보다는 기업지배목적의 투자가 실물투자를 구축시키고 경제력 집중 등을 초래하였을 가능성이 있음을 확인하였다.
Abstract
In this paper, we discuss whether or not the well-known negative impact of financialization on real capital accumulation can be proved using data from a sample of non-financial corporate in Korea from 2002 to 2013. Contrast to previous papers, we include a set of variables reflecting variation in corporate governance such as a ratio of foreign financial firms, domestic financial firms, and national pension fund’s holding non-financial firm’s share. And we also investigate the relationship between financial investment and stockholding for the purpose of governing subsidiaries, through which we can identify the reason for low accumulation in Korean non-financial firms not as financialization, but stockholding for the purpose of governing subsidiaries.
