탈물질 가치성향과 나라사랑의 관계 분석: 한·미·일 3국간 비교

초록

본 연구는 탈물질가치와 나라사랑이 국가별 어떤 특징적 모습으로 연계되어 있는지를 분석하는데 목적을 두었다.이를 위해 세계가치조사의 2차례 조사자료(2000년-2003년,2010년-2013년)를 활용하여 한․미․일 3국을 비교해 보았다.분석결과,① 탈물질 가치성향에서 국가별 차이가 많았다.한국은 Inglehart(1995)의 지적처럼 연령대별 차이가 크고,점진적 증가 추이를 보였다.반면,미국과 일본은 연령대별 차이가적고,급격한 감소추이를 보였다.② 나라사랑 역시 국가별 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다.한국은 국가 수호의지가 높고,미국은 국민적 정체성과 자긍심이 높았다.반면,일본은국민적 자긍심과 국가 수호의지가 가장 낮았다.변화 정도에 있어서는 미국은 전반적으로 감소하고,일본은 모든 변수에서 증가하며,한국은 국가 수호의지는 감소,국민적 자긍심은 증가 추이를 보였다.③ 탈물질가치와 나라사랑의 관계에 있어서도 한․ 미․일 3국은 변수별 차이가 많았다.하지만 전반적인 관계 방향에 있어서는 대체로부(-)의 성향이 강했다.한국에서는 조사 시점에 따라 정(+)과 부(-)의 관계가 변수별혼재하여 이러한 효과가 뚜렷하지 않았으나,미국과 일본에서는 매우 분명했다.미국은 나라사랑 모든 변수에 탈물질가치가 골고루 부정적 영향력을 보였고,일본 역시국민적 자긍심과 국가 수호의지에 뚜렷한 부(-)의 인과성을 보였다.이러한 결과를토대로 본 연구에서는 탈물질가치 성장에 따른 향후 나라사랑을 증진시킬 수 있는 방향 및 정책적 함의에 대해 논의 하였다.

Abstract

Thispaperaimstoinvestigatetherelationshipofpost-materialism andpatriotism in Korea, America and Japan.For the purpose of this study, it analyzes how post-materialism influences to patriotism classified 3 components: national identity, national pride, spirit of national security. Based on the two set of World Value Survey data(2000-2003, 2010-2013), this research finds following results. ➀ The levels of post-materialism in Korea, America and Japan are significantly different. Korea has more inter_generation gap than America and Japan. ➁ The levels of patriotism in Korea, America and Japan are significantly different. Korea has the high spirit of national security, while America has the high national identity and pride. But Japan has the lowest national pride and spirit of national security. ③ The influence of post-materialism to the patriotism is significantly different among the countries. America has a negative causal relationship between the post-materialism and all components of patriotism, while Korea has not any negative causality relationship between the post-materialism andpatriotism. And Japan has a negative causal relationship between the postmaterialism and 2 components of patriotism (national pride and spirit of national security). Based upon such results, this research discusses how to raise up patriotic conscious against the increase of post-materialism.
