방송언어 관련 방심위 심의 제재 현황 분석 ：10년간(209년~2018년) 심의 의결 내용분석을 중심으로

Abstract

This study investigated cases that were deliberated on the broadcasting language by the Korea Communications Standards Commision for 10 years from 209 to 2018, just after the regu￾lation of broadcasting language was established. The purpose of this study was to analyze the history of deliberations made over 10 years, to grasp the curent status and trends of deliberations, and to examine the characteristics of the deliberations. For the study, quantitative content analysis was conducted on 457 cases related to the broadcasting language. Through this, the character￾istics of the deliberations on the broadcasting language were clas￾sified by broadcasting station and genre, and the changes were al￾so reviewed. As a result of analysis, terestrial TV acounted for the highest proportion of the drama genre among the total number of deliberation sanctions, and in the case of comprehensive pro￾gramming chanels, they received the most deliberation sanctions in the curent afairs genre. And paid broadcasting chanels showed the highest number of sanctions in the entertainment genre. Loking at the types of broadcast languages ​that were sub￾ject to deliberation, 'profanity, slang, and new words' acounted for 38.3%, folowed by 26.2% for violent languages ​and 13.3% for sensational languages. Loking at this by genre, 'Profanity, slang, and new words' was the highest rate in the entertainment genre and comedy genres. In the drama and film genre, vulgar ex￾presion was the second highest rate after violent language. In the case of a comedy program, the use of vulgar expresions may originate from a genre characteristic that gives viewers to have fun with satire and humor. Vulgar expresions in dramas and movie genres are used as a device for composition or dramatic re￾production of the works. Therefore, it is necesary to come up with a method to more efectively protect the fredom of ex￾presion prescribed by the broadcast deliberation through dis￾cusion on the characteristics of each genre.
