고령층의 정보의 질적 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 디지털 조력자 활용방식을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 디지털 기술의 일상적 이용으로 정보격차의 패러다임이 정보접근 격차와 양적 이용 격차에서 질적 이용 격차로 전환하는 것에 맞춰, 고령층의 정보의 질적 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분석에는 한국정보화진흥원의 2019년 「디지털정보격차 실태조사」의 60세 이상 인터넷 이용자 1,088명의 응답자료를 활용하였다. 영향요인으로는 인구통계학적 요인과 정보이용 역량, 심리적 요인으로서 디지털 이용동기와 자기효능감, 그리고 사회적 요인으로서 디지털 기기를 이용할 때 잘 모르거나 문제가 생겼을 경우 해결하는 데 활용할 수 있는 사회적 지지원인 디지털 조력자 변수를 투입하였다. 디지털 조력자의 활용유형을 구분하기 위해 K-평균 군집분석을 하였으며, 변수별 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, 연령과 학력, 정보이용 역량, 이용동기･자기효능감, 디지털 조력자가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 디지털 조력자의 활용 유형 중에서도 가족 의존 유형의 한계를 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 고령･저학력자를 위한 방안의 강구, 인구통계학적 요인과 정보이용 역량 등을 고려한 맞춤형 정보화교육의 실시, 민간부문의 디지털 조력자의 활성화를 위한 고령층 디지털 포용 문화운동의 전개 등의 필요성을 시사한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that affect the qualitative use of information among the elderly. The data of 1, 088 Internet users over 60 years old of the 2019 Digital Divide Survey by NIA(National Information Society Agency) was used. Influencing factors include demographic factors and digital competence, psychological factors such as digital motivation and self-efficacy, and social factor such as digital supporters, a social support source that can be used to solve problems when using digital devices. K-means cluster analysis was performed to classify the use types of digital supporters, and regression analysis was performed to examine the influence of variables. As a result of the study, age variable has a negative effect on the qualitative use of information and education, digital competence, digital motivation and self-efficacy have positive effects on it. In particular, by examining the effect of each type of digital supporter's use, the limitation of the family-dependent type was confirmed. These results suggest the need to seek measures for the elderly and low-educated people, to implement customized ICT training considering demographic factors and digital competence, and to develop a digital inclusion cultural movement for the elderly to facilitate the participation of digital supporters.
