페널티 킥 방어 성공을 위한 엘리트 축구 골키퍼의 시선행동 분석

초록

본 연구는 엘리트 축구 골키퍼의 페널티 킥 방향 예측의 성공과 실패에 따른 시선행동의 차이를 비교․분석하여, 정확한 방향 예측을 위한 인지기술 훈련 프로그램을 현장에 적용하기 위한 기초정보를 제공하고 페널티 킥 방어 성공률을 높이는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 대학축구팀에 소속되어 10년 이상의 경험을 가진 주전 골키퍼 6명이 실험에 참여하였다. 연구대상자들은 키커의 페널티 킥 동영상을 보고 가능한 빠르고 정확하게 방향 예측 반응버튼을 누르는 과제를 실시하였다. 실험을 위해 안구 움직임 추적 장치(EMR-8), 예측 반응 측정기, 페널티 킥 동영상자료, 빔 프로젝트, 그리고 턱 고정틀 등이 사용되었다. 실험을 통해 도출된 안구 움직임의 2차원 좌표를 바탕으로 시선고정시간, 시선고정빈도, 시선고정위치 등의 시선행동 변인을 측정․분석하였다. 그 결과, 공의 방향을 정확하게 예측하였을 때, 높은 시선고정시간비율과 긴 평균시선고정시간을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 시선고정위치는 방향 예측의 성공 여부에 따라서 접근 구간에서 어깨 영역에, 킥 스윙 구간에서 상체영역과 공▪지지다리 사이의 공간 영역에서 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 공의 방향에 대한 예측에 실패했을 때는 주요단서 이외의 머리, 몸통, 팔 영역에 시선이 분산되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 시선의 분산은 짧은 평균시선고정시간과 부적절한 단서의 활용을 유발하며, 목표 제어 전략의 활용 비율을 높여 부적절한 운동행동을 야기한다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 유용한 사전시각단서의 활용과 환경시 체계를 통해 유용한 정보를 획득하기 위한 구조 제어 전략의 활용이 방향 예측의 성공과 실패를 결정하는 중요한 요소라고 할 수 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the abilities of anticipating the direction of penalty kick in successful and unsuccessful penalties defense. For this study, six players participated in this experiment : six participants were elite soccer goalkeeper with more than 10 years of experience. participants were required to press a reaction button as soon as they could estimate the direction of the ball while watching motion pictures of penalty kicks. For this experiment, the eye movement tracking system (EMR-8), reaction system, motion picture, beam projector, and screen were prepared. To analyze the gaze behavior, the kicker's kicking motion was divided into two sequential phase: the approach and the kick swing phase. The major results obtained from this experiment were as follows. elite goalkeepers used different gaze behavior between successful and unsuccessful penalties defense. Successful penalties defense were a less exhaustive gaze behavior involving fewer fixations of longer duration than unsuccessful penalties defense. Also there was a significant difference that elite goalkeepers gazed at kicker's shoulder area during the approach phase and at the upper trunk, the area between ball and non-kicking leg during kick swing phase between successful and unsuccessful penalties defense. In conclusion, successful penalties defense seem to operate on a context control strategy, which consists of eye fixation to a single location, from which it is possible to capture events around the visual fixation point. Thus, the accuracy of anticipation depends on the ability of visual attention shifts from on location to another by chunking the useful visual cue in the visual field and using peripheral vision.
