‘거꾸로 개요’를 적용한 대학 글쓰기 강의 방안 및 적용 사례 연구

‘거꾸로 개요(reverse outline)’는 초고를 완성한 후 ‘수정하기’ 단계에서 거꾸로자신의 글에 대한 개요를 작성해보는 회귀적 활동을 의미하며, 자신의 글쓰기를객관적으로 점검하고 수정의 방향을 미리 계획해볼 수 있도록 하는 효과적인 전략이다. 이러한 활동을 통해 필자는 초고가 자신의 의도대로 작성되었는지를 점검할 수 있고, 또 글의 구조적인 수정을 계획할 수 있다. 또 이처럼 성찰과 계획을 겸한다는 점에서 ‘거꾸로 개요’는 글쓰기 과정에서의 필자의 자기인지 작용을활성화하고 자기주도성을 강화할 수 있는 활동이다. 본 연구는 이러한 ‘거꾸로개요’를 과정 중심 글쓰기의 하위 전략으로서 소개하고, 이에 기반한 학습 활동을 구성, 국내 대학의 글쓰기 강의에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 마련하였다. 과정중심 글쓰기 이론을 채택한 대부분의 대학 글쓰기 교재 또는 교육과정에서 ‘수정하기’ 단계의 구체적 교육 내용이 부족한 실정을 감안할 때, 이러한 ‘거꾸로 개요’ 의 도입과 적용을 통해 학습자 활동 중심의 구체적이고 실제적인 ‘수정하기’ 강의안이 마련될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
“Reverse outline” refers to the activity of making an outline backward based on a draft as an effective writing strategy to check whether the draft is written as intended and to plan and implement structural revisions of the text. In this process, “reverse outline” can strengthen self-cognition and self-directedness as writers in the learning process. This study introduces the “reverse outline” strategy as a sub-strategy for process-oriented writing, organized learning activities for writing lectures at universities. Because most textbooks and lectures that adopted process-oriented writing theory lack specified contents and teaching methods, especially in revision, it is expected that the introduction of the “reverse outline” activity provides specific and useful educational content centered on learner activities.
