A Survey on the Perception of Safety Management Regulation for Cell-Cultured Meat of Alternative Food Manufacturer

This study investigated the perceptions of safety management regulations for cell-cultured meat of alternative food manufacturer. As a result of the survey, that it is difficult to manage safety-related matters of cell-cultured meat under the current regulations, need for prepare of systematic domestic standards and specifications for safety management. Secondly, when improving safety management regulations for cell-cultured meat, it is important to refer to the regulations of leading countries such as the United States, Singapore, and the EU to prepare regulations that can respond to market changes. In particular, it is important to establish safety management regulations that can response to market changes, similar to the Pre-Market consultation in the United States. Finally, refer to safety management regulations in the United States and the roles of various ministries in the current domestic alternative food industry, it is deemed appropriate for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to oversee the industry promotion support projects, while the overall safety management should be supervised by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
