초록
Green manure crops have the effects of increasing soil fertility, reducing nitrogen dioxide emissions, and reducing herbicide use, and they possess a high carbon dioxide absorption capacity. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of priming imported legume and green manure crop seeds with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and inorganic salts on their germination characteristics. PEG and inorganic salts (KNO 3 and CaCl 2 ) used in this study were practically unavailable in organic agricultural fields, but were conducted for the purpose of identifying physiological responses. In addition, it was conducted to find out how it affects the germination characteristics of green manure crop seeds. Priming treatment significantly increased the germination rate of sunn hemp and hairy vetch, while it did not show a distinct effect on the percent germination. In crimson clover, KNO 3 and CaCl 2 treatments reduced both germination rate and percent germination compared to the control. In contrast, PEG treatment enhanced both germination rate and percent germination. Therefore, it is concluded that PEG, KNO 3 , and CaCl 2 priming treatments affect the germination rate, percent germination, germination energy, and mean germination time of legume green manure crop seeds, with slight differences depending on the species.
