메타분석을 이용한 특수교육 요구 아동의 음운중심 읽기지도와 의미중심 읽기지도 연구 비교

초록

본 연구는 1996년부터 2006년까지 특수교육 요구아동 관련 국내 석박사 학위논문 및 학술논문 중 음운중심 읽기지도 및 의미중심 읽기지도에 관한 실험연구들을 대상으로 메타분석을 통해 각각의 접근방법별로 효과 크기를 산출하고 그 결과를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구결과 음운중심 읽기지도 방법과 의미중심 읽기지도 방법이 적용된 실험연구 9편의 연구에서 21개의 효과 크기를 산출하였으며, 평균효과 크기는 음운중심 읽기지도 방법 3.10, 의미중심 읽기지도 방법 1.04의 효과 크기를 보였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 두 가지 읽기접근 방법에 대한 논의를 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the effect size of phonics-based reading instruction and meaning-based reading instruction through meta analysis. For this analysis, master thesis, doctoral dissertations and academic journals on experimental studies concerning children with special education need conducted in Korea from 1996 to 2006 were examined. The results showed that 21 effect sizes were calculated in 9 experimental studies. The average effect size of phonics-based reading instruction turned out to be 3.10 and that of meaning-based reading instruction was 1.12. This study would be discussed about that based on research conclusion, analysis about phonics-centered reading instruction and meaning-based reading instruction.
