Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the difference between phonological awareness and reading(reading, spelling, comprehension of sentences, vocabulary) for children with cerebral palsy in elementary special school. This study was also concerned with finding out what primary factors of phonological awareness are best at predicting reading by using multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows; First, the cerebral palsied showed high achievement syllable awareness of phonological awareness and vocabulary of reading variable. Second, it was observed that there was a significant correlation between phonological awareness and reading for the cerebral palsied Third, it can be concluded that syllable awareness can greatly predict reading and whereas onset-phoneme distinction was more significant in predicting spelling, onset-phoneme distinction and syllable exclusion was more significant in predicting comprehension of sentences, counting numbers of syllables was more significant in predicting vocabulary for the cerebral palsied.
