뇌성마비아의 장애유형과 조음능력에 따른 인지적 능력과 읽기, 쓰기 기능과의 관계 연구

본 연구는 뇌성마비아의 조음능력에 따라서 인지적 능력(음운 인식, 단기 기억, 시지각)과 읽기, 쓰기 기능(읽기, 쓰기, 문장 이해력, 어휘력)에서 차이가 나는지를 알아보았다.본 연구의 대상은 뇌성마비아 30명이며, 장애유형별로 경직형(23명)과 비경직형(7명), 조음능력별로 상위집단(17명)과 하위집단(13명)으로 구분하였다. 조음능력 상위집단은 자음오류개수가 적은 집단, 하위집단은 자음오류개수가 많은 집단이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 뇌성마비아의 장애 유형에 따른 인지적 능력 차이는 숫자 단기 기억 폭이 경직형이 비경직형보다 수행 점수가 높게 나타났으며, 이것은 경직형 뇌성마비아일수록 숫자 단기 기억 폭이 더 높다고 할 수 있다 둘째, 뇌성마비아의 조음 능력에 따른 인지적 능력은 조음 능력이 높은 집단일수록 음절 수 세기, 숫자 단기 기억 폭, 글자 단기 기억 폭이 높았다. 또한 뇌성마비아는 조음 능력이 높을수록 읽기, 쓰기 기능에서 어휘력 수행 능력이 우수하였다. 셋째, 뇌성마비아의 읽기와 상관이 있는 인지적 변인은 음운 인식의 음절탈락, 음절수세기, 초성음소변별이고 시지각 유형에서는 시각기억, 시공간관계, 시각형태항상성, 시각계열기억, 시각전경배경으로 나타났다. 쓰기와 유의한 상관이 있는 변인을 보면 음운 인식에서는 음절탈락과 음절수세기가 나타났고, 시지각 유형에서는 모든 하위변인들과 높은 상관이 있었다. 문장이해력과 유의한 상관은 음운 인식에서는 음절탈락, 음절수세기, 초성음소변별이며, 시지각 하위변인들과도 높은 상관이 있었다.. 어휘력과 유의한 상관은 음운 인식 유형, 시지각 유형, 단기기억 유형에서 모든 하위 변인들과 상관이 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between cognitive abilities and reading and spelling skills for the cerebral palsied. In particular, this study was to compare cognitive and reading and spelling skills between high and low groups of articulation abilities and between spastic and non-spastic groups. The 30 cerebral palsied were recruited from a special elementary school. The participants were presented Picture Consonant Articulation Tests(Kim, 2004) measuring the articulation ability of the cerebral palsied, phonological awareness tasks, short-term memory tests, and Visual-Perceptual Skills Test-Revised(Gardner, 1996), K-SPM Raven Intelligence Test(Yim, 2004). Moreover, The Basic Learning Skill Tests(Park et al, 2001) and A Picture-Vocabulary Test(Kim et al, 1995) were also measured to identify the reading and spelling abilities of the cerebral palsied. The results of the study were as follows; First, spastic cerebral palsied were found to have a greater short-term memory of numbers than the non-spastic cerebral palsied. Second, the cerebral palsied, those with superior articulation ability showed better ability in counting the numbers of syllables, rime-phoneme distinction, and short-term memory of both numbers and letters. The cerebral palsied, those with higher ability of articulation could bring out better results in vocabulary performance. Finally, it was found that there were significant correlations between the cognitive abilities and the reading and spelling skills for the cerebral palsied.
