초등학생들의 아동학대 잠재적 집단 유형과 심리사회적 적응

본 연구는 관찰대상자중심의 접근방법을 사용하여 초등학생들을 일련의 학대피해경험에 따라 유형화하고, 발견된 아동학대 잠재적 집단과 아동의 심리사회적 적응의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널의 1차년도 아동부가조사 자료를 활용하였으며, 총 15개의 아동 학대 항목에 대한 응답패턴에 기초한 잠재적 집단 분석을 실시하였다. 잠재적 집단 분석 결과, 초등학생들은 ‘심각한 신체적 학대(1.9%)’, ‘체벌+정서적 학대+지도감독 방임(2.5%)’, ‘정서적 학대+물리적 방임(14.4%)’, ‘비학대(81.2%)’ 집단으로 유형화 되었다. 성별과 학년을 통제한 공분산분석에서는 심각하고 복합적인 학대를 경험하는 집단에 속한 아동들이 비신체적 학대집단 및 비학대 집단에 속한 아동들에 비해 내면화 및 외현화 문제를 더 많이 보고하는 것으로 나타났다. 다변량 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석결과는 비행경험이 많을수록 ‘심각한 신체적 학대’ 집단에, 공격성향과 또래관계에서 피해를 더 많이 경험할수록 ‘체벌+정서적 학대+지도감독 방임’ 또는 ‘정서적 학대+물리적 방임’ 집단에 귀속될 가능성이 높음을 보고하였다. 또한 ‘비학대’집단을 제외한 학대경험 집단들 간의 비교를 통해 아동의 외현화 문제가 집단들을 유의미하게 구별함을 알 수 있었다. 연구의 결과를 토대로 학교현장에서의 사회복지사를 위한 실천적 함의와 후속연구를 위한 과제를 제시하였다.

Abstract

Using a person-centered approach, this study aimed to empirically classify elementary school children into subgroups based on their child maltreatment experiences and to examine the relationships between these subgroups and their psychosocial adjustment. Using the Child data from the first wave of the Korea Welfare Panel Study, latent class analysis based on 15 indicators of child maltreatment was performed. Students were classified into four latent classes of child maltreatment: ‘severe physical abuse(1.9%)’, ‘corporal punishment+emotional abuse+supervisory neglect(2.5%)’, ‘emotional abuse+physical neglect (14.4%)’, ‘no abuse(81.2%)’. The analysis of variance with covariates indicated that severe and multi-type abuse groups experienced higher internalizing and externalizing problems than those of non-physical abuse group and ‘no abuse’ group. The results from multivariate multinomial logistic regression analyses revealed that delinquent behaviors significantly increased the risk of being in the ‘severe physical abuse’ group, while aggressive behaviors and victimization by peers increased the risk of being both in the ‘corporal punishment+emotional abuse+supervisory neglect’, ‘emotional abuse+physical neglect’ groups. Also, externalizing problems were found to be significant risk factors that distinguished three abused subgroups. Based on the findings of this study, the implications for practice at school settings and future studies were discussed.
