본 연구는 과학자의 연구활동을 전문성이라는 개념틀을 활용하여 분석함으로써 전문성이 연구성과와 어떠한 관계에 있는지 알아보기 위해 이공계 교수 및 대학원생을 대상으로 수행되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전문성이 높은 교수집단이 낮은 집단에 비해 SCI 논문발표수와 특허출원수가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, SCI 논문수를 기준으로 전문성의 차이를 분석한 결과, SCI 논문수가 많은 교수집단의 전문성이 논문수가 적은 집단에 비해 높게 나타났으며, 특히 전문성 하위요인 중 학습요인의 차이가 크게 나타났다. 셋째, 교수집단과 대학원생집단의 전문성 차이를 분석한 결과, 교수집단이 13개 전문성 하위요인 중 12개 요인에서 높게 나타났으며, 가치요인과 창조요인의 차이가 크게 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 첫째, 대학의 우수연구인력 양성을 위해 전문성 개발 접근이 필요하다. 둘째, 대학원생의 진로와 경력에 대한 관심과 지도가 필요하다. 셋째, 이공계 대학원생에게 다양한 경험의 기회를 제공해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between expertise and research performance of scientists towards faculties and graduate students of universities. The primary conclusions of this study are as follows. First, The number of SCI papers and patents of the faculty group with high expertise was higher than the group with low expertise. Second, the expertise of the faculty group with many own SCI papers was higher than the group with small number of SCI papers. Especially, the learning factor among sub-factors of expertise showed a significant difference between groups. Third, the expertise of the faculty group was higher than the group of graduate students in the 12 of 13 sub-factors of expertise. In particular, the value and creation factors were significant differences between groups.
