연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 중년 중도 뇌성마비인들의 삶 전반의 경험을 조사하고, 이를 토대로 삶의 질 향상을 위한 지원요구 및 지원방안을 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구방법: 수도권 지역에 거주하는 중년 중도 뇌성마비 장애인 10명을 대상으로 개별 면담을 진행하였으며, 모든 면담은 전사하여 지속적 비교법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 자립생활, 건강, 경제, 직업, 성/연애/결혼/출산/육아, 여가 관련 경험 및 지원요구를 포함하는 6가지 삶의 영역에서 17개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 결론: 연구결과를 바탕으로 중년 중도 뇌성마비인들의 전반적인 삶의 질 고양을 위한 지원 방안에 대해 다음과 같이 논의하고 제언하였다: 1) 장애인 활동지원 서비스 관련 논의, 2) 경제적 지원 관련 논의, 3) 기타 건강 등에 대한 추가 논의, 4) 학령기 및 초기 성인기의 특수교육적 지원에 대한 논의.
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the life experiences of middle-aged people with cerebral palsy and to explore support needs and strategies for enhancing their quality of life. Method: Individual in-depth interviews were implemented with 10 people with severe cerebral palsy in Seoul and nearby areas. Interviews were transcribed and analyzed, using constant comparative analysis. Results: Six main themes of independent living, health, economic life, job, sex/dating/marriage/childbirth/parenting, and leisure were delineated with 17 sub-themes. Conclusion: Issues in supporting people with severe cerebral palsy were discussed, which include (a) personal assistance service for people with disabilities, (b) economic support, (c) other health-related issues, and (d) educational support during school age and early adulthood.
