연구방법: 초기 사회적 의사소통 기능 측정을 위해 ESCS(Early Social Communication Scale, Mundy et al., 2003)를 사용하였다.
Abstract
Purpose: This study compared the early social communication characteristics of children with cerebral palsy(CP) and typically developing children(TD). Method: Early Social Communication Scale was used to measure early communication. Results: First, eye contact of the joint-attention initiation was not significantly different between the groups. Pointing aternation, pointing with eye contact, and showing things were significantly different between the two groups. The CP group had significantly lower responses in following pointing with eye contact and, indicating responses to common interests. Second, eye contact was not significant in the behavioral initiation, and there were significant differences in reaching out, appeal, pointing, pointing and eye contact, giving, giving and eye contact. CP had significantly lower responses than those of the TD group in responding to behavioral resquests. Third, turn-taking did not show significant differences between groups in social interaction initiation. There were significant differences in eye contact, acting, appeal, turn-taking, and responding to Ioffering of things in social interaction responding. Conclusion: The results of this study confirmed that the children with CP showed early developmental patterns similar to those of TD children and poor performance in later developmental communication behaviors. These results were discussed in relation to parenting environmental factors.
