유니버설 디자인 관점에서의 실버타운 내 식음공간 사례 분석

본 연구는 실버타운 내 식음공간 3곳을 직접 방문하여 실측과 사진촬영으로 기록하였으며 「서울시 노인복지센터 유니버설 디자인 가이드라인」과 「유니버설 디자인을 위한 고령자 인체 치수 및 기능 설정」에 근거한 식음공간의 유니버설 디자인 분석기준과 세부 평가항목을 토대로 주출입구, 대기공간, 배식공간, 식사공간, 통로에 대해 본 연구의 유니버설 디자인 개념인 안전성, 접근성, 쾌적성, 효율성 평가항목의 관점에서 평가하였다. 평가 결과를 바탕으로 현재 식음공간의 유니버설 디자인의 문제점을 도출한 후 기초적인 식음공간 유니버설 디자인 가이드라인을 제안하였다. 이러한 체크리스트를 통한 유니버설 디자인 적용의 검토사항과 가이드라인의 개발은 노인층에게 보다 나은 식음공간을 제공해 줄 수 있는 기초적인 자료로 제공될 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 실제 이용하고 있는 노인들을 대상으로 한 인터뷰 및 설문조사가 이루어지지 못한 점과 이용의 행태 관찰조사를 이루어지지 못한점에 한계가 있으므로, 추후 이를 보완하는 후속 연구가 필요하다고 본다.
Abstract
This study looks into three dining facilities in Silver Towns (retirement homes), and contains records of on-site surveys and photographs of the sites. Based on universal design analysis standards and detailed evaluation items as set out by "Universal Design Guidelines for Seoul Welfare Center for the Elderly" and "Guidelines for Measuring Sizes and Functionality of the Elderly for Universal Design," Main entrance and exit, waiting area, serving area, dining area, and pathways are evaluated from the perspectives of safety, accessibility, comfort, and efficiency, which are the Universal Design concepts as explained in the current study. Based on the evaluation results, the current study deduces various problems with the current Universal Design for dining spaces, andproposes basic Universal Design guidelines for dining spaces. Such development of review methods and guidelines for applying the Universal Design by checklist can be used as a basic data for providing matter dining spaces for the elderly. There are limitations, however, in that senior citizens using the dining facilities are not interviewed and observed, there is a need for a follow-up research to complement them.
