스마트 홈의 다중 사용자 환경을 고려한 정보 알림 개선 방안 연구

본 연구는 다중 사용자 환경 콘텍스트를 반영한 사용자 연구를 통해 개선된 스마트 홈 정보 알림 서비스를 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 스마트 홈 관련 서비스의 보편화와 함께 사용자 경험을 고려한 연구는 많지만, 공동 공간에서 함께 생활하는 다중 사용자 환경을 고려한 연구는 아직은 쉽게 찾아보기 어렵다. 심층 인터뷰를 통해 다중 사용자 환경을 고려한 스마트 홈 정보 알림에 대한 요구 사항을 확인한 결과 현재 제공하는 조작 중심의 단순한 정보 알람으로는 사용자 니즈를 충족하지 못한다는 것을 발견할 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 기존 스마트 홈 정보 알림의 조작자-정보 접근자 매트릭스와 인터뷰를 통해 얻은 인사이트를 통합하여 개선된 스마트 홈 정보 알림에 대한 사용자 검증으로 아래의 결과를 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 사용자들은 자신의 상황 또는 디바이스별 특징에 따라 받고 싶은 알림의 정보 형태가 달라진다. 둘째, 사용자들은 변화된 상황의 맥락을 이해하기 위하여 조작 시간과 조작으로 인해 변화된 디바이스 상태, 조작자 정보까지 포함된 정보를 받기 원하는 것으로 확인하였다. 셋째, 사용자들은 변화된 디바이스의 상황과 취해야 하는 행동을 명확하게 인지시켜주는 알림을 선호하며, 사용자 중심적으로 표현되는 문장을 긍정적으로 받아들였다. 넷째, 위치 정보를 실시간으로 확인할 수 있는 스마트폰의 특성을 이용하여 가족 구성원이 집과 일정 거리 이상 가까워졌을 때 이에 대한 알림을 보내거나 받고 싶어 하는 요구 사항이 있었다. 위와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 스마트 홈 서비스를 경험하는 다인 가구 사용자들을 고려한 알림 개발의 토대를 마련하는 데 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to propose improved information notification services considering multi-users in a smart home environment. Through in-depth interviews, we have identified requirements for smart home information notifications considering multi-user environments. As a result, we found that simple information alarms based on the present operation do not satisfy user needs. The following results were obtained by user verification of the improved smart home information notifications by integrating the operator-information accessor matrix of existing smart home information notices and the insights obtained through the interviews. First, the users wanted to receive different types of notifications depending on a particular situation or on device-specific capabilities. In addition, users can quickly grasp the context of the situation when operator information is included in the notification, and prefer information notifications including the changed device status and any action to be taken. Finally, some users wanted to receive notifications about the location of family members through a smartphone and to send or receive notifications when they approached their home within a certain distance. This study is meaningful in that it lays the foundation for the development of notification services that consider users in multi-family households who live in a smart home environment.
