한국어 발음 교육용 발음 규칙과 음절구조제약에 대하여

본고에서는 한국어 발음 교육에서 다루어져야할 내용으로 발음 규칙과 음절구조제약을 구분하였다. 한국어 교육에서 가르치는 규칙은 일반적인 음운 규칙과 달리 표기형과 발음형의 차이를 설명해 주는 규칙임을 명확히 하고 이를 ‘발음 규칙’으로 규정하였다. 발음 규칙을 표기와 관련된 규칙으로 규정함으로써 지금까지 논란이 되어온 음운 규칙 목록과의 불일치 문제, 통시적인 음운 규칙의 적용 문제, 연음현상을 포함해야하는 문제를 해결할 수 있었다. 규칙으로 제시될 수 있는 발음 규칙이 표기와 관련된 것이라면 표기로는 드러나지 않지만 정확한 발음을 위해 가르쳐야 할 내용은 음절구조제약으로 설명될 수 있었다. 기본적인 음절구조제약은 국어학에서 다루어지는 내용과 큰 차이가 없으나 한국어 발음 교육에서는 그 제약과 관련하여 언어권별로 제시되어야 할 세부 교육 내용이 중요한 관심사가 되어야 함을 주장하였다.
Abstract
I classified the contents to be treated in Korean pronunciation education into pronunciation rules and syllable structure constraints. The rules taught in Korean pronunciation education are conceptualized as rules explaining difference between notation form and pronunciation form, and defined as ‘pronunciation rule’. By defining pronunciation rules as rules related to notation, it is possible to solve the problems which has been controversial so far; the inconsistency with the list of the phonological rules, the problem of applying synchronic rules with diachronic rules, and the problem of including liason as a phonological rule. The pronunciation rules that can be presented as rules are related to the notation, but the pronunciation difficulties that can not be shown by the notation can be explained by the syllable structure constraints. Although the basic syllable structure constraints are not much different from those of Korean linguistics, it has been argued that the details related to the learner’s native language should be an important concern in the Korean pronunciation education.
