이 연구에서는 OECD 9개국의 초고속인터넷 서비스에 대한 헤도닉가격분석을 시도하였다. 이 논문의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초고속인터넷의 품질을 고려한 가격수준을 비교하면 한국, 스웨덴, 영국, 네덜란드, 독일, 일본, 미국, 캐나다, 호주의 순으로 낮았다. 즉 이 순서대로 동일한 품질의 초고속인터넷을 가장 낮은 가격에, 또는 동일가격에 가장 높은 품질의 초고속인터넷을 사용할 수 있다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 정액제 상품은 종량제 상품에 비해 그 가격이 약 13% 높았지만, 종량제상품 비율이 각각 78%와 100%에 달하는 캐나다와 호주가 품질대비가격이 가장 높았다. 이 논문의 기여는 정보통신서비스의 국제비교를 헤도닉가격분석을 통해 수행하였다는 것이다.
Abstract
The paper aims to provide a hedonic price analysis of internet access services in nine OECD countries. According to the findings, Korea is ranked first among the nine countries for the lowest quality-adjusted price for internet services. Korea was followed by Sweden, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Japan, US, Canada, and Australia, in order. That is to say, in Korea, either internet access services with a distinctive quality are offered at the lowest price, or top-quality internet services are available at the same price as those of the rest countries. Another finding is that the price of flat tariff service is 13 percent higher than that of charge tariff service in the nine countries as a whole. However, Canada and Australia, in which the ratio of charge tariff service to flat rate service is respectively 78% and 100%, turn out to be highest among the nine countries in terms of the quality-adjusted price for the internet services.
