자율주행자동차의 본격적 개발과 상용화를 위하여는 3가지 핵심적 요건이 충족되어야 한다. 첫 번째는 자율주행자동차의 개발목적인 획기적 안전성의 보장이다. 두 번째는 자율주행자동차는 말 그대로 사람이 아닌 자율주행시스템에 의한 운행이 가능하여야 한다. 마지막으로 자율주행자동차에 의한 운행이 이루어진다고 하더라도 사고의 가능성을 배제할 수 없으므로 이에 대한 민・형사상의 책임문제가 해결되어야 한다.
Abstract
Three essential conditions must be satisfied for the innovative development and commercialization of the Autonomous Car. First of all, the Autonomous Car must guarantee maximum safety in itself, as the development goal of the Autonomous Car. Secondly, It should be ensured to self-drive not by a human manual but by the autonomous system literally. Last but not least, the matter of civil or criminal liability for the accident by the Autonomous Car should be decided due to the fact that it is difficult to excluded the possibility of occurring accidents by the Autonomous Car.
