The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of intervention subjects and analyze the types of intervention based on the aspects of interaction through interviews and discussion discourse analysis of interventions and subjects. To this end, interventions with high frequency of intervention and subjects who were frequently interrupted were interviewed in middle school student group discussions. Based on learners’ perception of intervention, the frequency of intervention and aspects, there were a total of five types of intervention. The five-factor model (McCrae & Cost) and learning style (Grasha & Reichmann) were employed. Participants were divided into a competitive type with neuroticism, a collaborative type with agreeableness, a dependent-avoidant type with conscientiousness, an independent type with openness, and a participant type with extroversion. This paper is meaningful in that it did not only superficially analyze the current status or aspect of intervention in the discussion discourse, but also in-depth analysis of the intentions and purposes of intervention and non-individuals.
