본 연구는 국내 일반 성인 남성을 대상으로 사이코패시 성향이 데이트폭력 태도에 미치는 영향을 탐색하고, 이 과정에서 성역할 고정관념과 폭력 허용도가 이중매개 역할을 하는지 구조방정식모형으로 검증하였다. 데이트폭력은 교제 관계에서 발생하는 신체적․심리적․성적 폭력으로, 개인의 성격 특성과 사회문화적 신념이 복합적으로 작용하는 다차원적 현상이다. 특히 사이코패시는 충동성, 무모함, 공감 결여 등의 특성으로 인해 폭력적 태도 및 행동과 밀접히 연관되며, 데이트폭력 가해자의 핵심 위험요인으로 지목된다. 본 연구는 300명의 남성 성인을 대상으로 사이코패시 성향, 성역할 고정관념, 폭력 허용도, 데이트폭력 태도를 측정하고, 사이코패시 하위요인이 데이트폭력 태도에 미치는 직접․간접 경로계수를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 탈억제와 적대성은 모든 유형의 데이트폭력 태도에 직접경로계수를 보였으며, 정서적 안정성과 무책임은 성적 데이트폭력 태도에만 유의미한 관계를 확인하였다. 또한 성역할 고정관념과 폭력 허용도는 사이코패시와 데이트폭력 태도 간 관계를 일부 이중매개 하였으며, 개인의 성격과 사회문화적 신념을 통해 데이트폭력 태도의 내면화가 연쇄되는 메커니즘을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 데이트폭력 연구에서 어두운 성격 특성의 중요성을 확장하고, 가해 위험성에 대한 심리․사회문화적 통합적 이해를 제공한다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.
Abstract
This study explored the influence of psychopathic traits on attitudes toward dating violence among adult men in South Korea and examined whether gender role stereotypes and justification of violence serve as sequential mediators using a structural equation modeling approach. Dating violence refers to physical, psychological, and sexual violence occurring within romantic relationships, representing a multidimensional phenomenon shaped by the interaction of individual personality traits and sociocultural beliefs. Psychopathy, characterized by impulsivity, recklessness, and lack of empathy, has been closely linked to violent attitudes and behaviors and is considered a key risk factor for perpetration. A total of 300 adult men participated in this study, completing measures of psychopathic traits, gender role stereotypes, justification of violence, and attitudes toward dating violence. Results indicated that disinhibition and antagonism showed direct effects on all types of dating violence attitudes, while emotional stability and irresponsibility were significantly associated only with sexual dating violence attitudes. Moreover, gender role stereotypes and justification of violence sequentially mediated the relationship between psychopathic traits and dating violence attitudes, demonstrating a mechanism through which personality traits and sociocultural beliefs interact to internalize violent attitudes. This study highlights the significance of dark personality traits in understanding dating violence and contributes to an integrated psychological and sociocultural perspective on perpetration risk.
