This study concerns the research of the costume of 'Chwigosu' which was a kind of military band music appeared in the late Joseon dynasty used during military ceremonies and all sorts of event and also explores its distinctive characteristics. The Methodology of this study is reviewing and researching the types of the style of the Costume in 'Chwigosu' in the genre picture through the antique records and literature analysis. The style of the Costume in 'Chwigosu' in the genre picture were divided into 5 styles according to the shape and composition. 1) 'Chwigosu' wore 'Jeonlip' , 'Hyeopsu', and 'Seonbok'2) 'Chwigosu' wore 'Heoklip' and 'Danlyeong'. 3) Wind instrument player among the 'Chwigosu' wore 'Heoklip' and 'Jiklyeong' and the percussionist wore 'Jeonlip', 'Hyeopsu' and 'Seonbok'. 4) 'Chwigosu' wore 'Heoklip‘ and 'Jeonlip', 'Hyeopsu' and 'Seonbok'. according to the musical instrument. 5) ‘Chwigosu' wore 'Cholip' and 'Cheollik'
Abstract
