남녀 집단에서 살펴본청소년 비행과 부모감독의 종단관계 연구

본 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원의 종단자료인 한국청소년패널조사 2003년부터 2007년까지의 자료를 자기회귀교차지연 모형을 이용하여 청소년 비행과 부모감독 간의 종단관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 청소년 비행과 부모감독 관계에서 시간의 흐름에 따른 영향은 존재하며, 꾸준한 부모감독은 청소년 비행 참여를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 설정한 청소년 비행과 부모감독의 자기회귀교차지연 모형에서 남녀 집단은 대체로 유사한 양상을 보이고 있으나 미미하게 그 영향력 크기의 차이를 보이고 있었다. 예를 들어, 여자 집단에서 부모감독이 남자 집단보다 더 높고 꾸준히 이루어지고 있었으며, 부모감독이 현 시점의 청소년 비행에 주는 교차회귀효과는 여학생들에게만 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 차이를 종합하면, 남자 집단에서 부모감독은 꾸준히 이루어지고 있으나 청소년 비행과 부모감독의 상호 영향력은 여자 집단에서 더 발현된다고 하겠다. 요컨대 적절한 부모감독은 청소년 비행을 줄이는 데에 긍정적 영향을 미치며, 특히 여자 청소년의 경우 비행에 참여하더라도 부모감독이 지속적으로 이루어진다면 비행을 감소시킬 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study examined the interactional relationship between juvenile delinquent behavior and parental monitoring across gender groups by utilizing data from a Korea Youth Panel Survey. With autoregressive cross-lagged modeling, we explored two ideas: 1) the interactional effects between parental monitoring and delinquent behaviors, and 2) the difference in these effects among gender groups. The results of the study are as follows: Autoregressive effects of juvenile delinquent behaviors and parental monitoring appeared stable. However, cross-lagged effects between delinquent behaviors among juveniles and parental monitoring in female and male groups were different. In the female group, parental monitoring had a stronger influence on reducing delinquent behaviors than in the male group. In conclusion, parental monitoring is shown to be an influential factor in preventing delinquent behaviors, especially among females. Suggestions for future studies are also discussed.
