본 연구는 충남가젤산업의 기술수준분석과 산업구조분석을 통해 정책적 시사점을 도출해 보고자 하였다. 분석결과, 충남가젤산업은 규모와 성장성 측면에서 경쟁우위가 있고, 산업효율성이 높아 소득증대 효과가 있었다. 또한 충남가젤산업 중 저기술산업은 첨단기술산업을 제외한, 고기술산업, 중기술수준의 산업보다 산업집적과 산업성장을 거듭하며 빠른 산업구조변화속도로 변모해왔다는 사실을 밝혀냈다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 다음의 시사점을 도출하였다. 낮은 연구개발 투자에도 빠른 성장과 고용창출을 달성하는 충남가젤산업에 대한 집중한 추가적인 연구개발투자가 필요하며, 산업규모(BQ)와 산업성장율(IG)을 이용한 산업발전단계별 육성전략 추진이 필요하다. 또한 충남가젤산업 중 저기술산업이 고기술산업, 중기술수준의 산업보다 빠른 산업구조적 변화를 보이는 것에 대해 지역의 입장에서유불리를 심도있게 검토해야 한다. 본 연구에서 분석한 가젤산업을 지역산업정책에 활용한다면 높은 소득증대와 고용창출 등으로 지역산업과 지역발전에 이바지 할 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
This study investigates the technical level and industrial structure for the case of the Gazelleindustry in Chungnam Province. As a results of the empirical study, the Gazelle industry of ChungnamProvince shows a competitive position in terms of scale and growth capacity, which. in turn, provides incomeand tax collection effects due to the high level of industrial efficiency. Among the Gazelle industryof Chungnam Province, low-level technology industry, compared to high and middle-level technologyindustries, accelerates higher level of agglomeration and industrial growth, which provides a rapid changeof industrial structure of the province. Theses research results imply that research and development investmentin the Gazelle industry is essential and industrial development strategy should be conducted viastep-by-step with business scale quotient (BQ) and industrial growth rate (IG). Meanwhile, there shouldbe a serious policy review whether low-level technology industry is better off for the province compared tohigh and middle-level technology industries. This study expects that regional industrial policy applyingthe concept of Gazelle industry can accelerate regional development since the Gazelle industry contributesto the high level of income growth and employment creation.
