대학 교양교육과정 개선을 위한 국내․외 교양교육과정 비교분석

본 연구는 균형감 있는 지식인의 양성이라는 대학의 과업을 수행하기 위하여 교양교육과정의 개선이 필요함을 인식하고, 국․내외 주요 대학들의 교양교육과정 비교․분석을 통하여 우리나라 대학 교양교육과정의 개선에 있어서 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 국내와 미국, 일본 주요 대학의 요람을 토대로 교양교육과정의 목표, 운영방식, 영역이수체계 및 영역별 내용을 구체적으로 고찰하였으며, 그 결과로 교양교육과정의 운영을 위한 독립적인 전담기구와 Advice Center의 운영, 수업에 있어서 다양한 인사들의 참여, 교육내용에 있어서 학제적(interdisciplinary)이고 다채로운 경험의 제공과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide meaningful suggestions for the improvement in general education curriculum by comparatively analyzing general education across three countries, Korea, the United States and Japan. The study covers educational goals and degree requirements, administrational system and contents. The results of this study are as follows: First, there is interdepartmental Committee, advising center providing academic support, programming and counseling. Second, through discussion, writing, and direct interaction between instructor and student curriculum helps improve each student’s ability. The instructors come from other University and society as well as their University. Finally, they provide interdisciplinary and philosophical subject matters.
