The purpose of this study is to examine whether the bibliodrama program which fuses literary text with an action method like sociodrama may be useful as a leisure activity for the elderly or not, and how effective it is. In a result of verifying effectiveness of bibliodrama program, it helps the participants improve their physical functions gradually and be healed psychologically while having a catharsis through the play in bibliodrama session, that is to say, surplus reality. They can understand their lives more deeply through the insight to their selves and others, and promote their sociabilities through the role training. And they can have the emotional support from one another. In addition, their depression has been decreased, while their self-esteem has been improved. This causes them to have positive and energetic attitudes toward their lives. In conclusion, bibliodrama can be useful as a leisure activity for the elderly in the field of leisure therapy.
