본 연구는 제7차 및 2007 초등교육과정에 지속가능발전 관련된 내용을 분석한 다음 이에 대한 문제점을 찾아 개선방안을 모색하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 지속가능한 발전된 사회를 구현하기 위하여 로하스적 생활방식을 적용한 환경교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 지속가능발전에 대한 의식 변화에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 분석된 결과는 다음과 같다. 본 연구를 통하여 초등교육과정에 로하스적 생활방식을 적용한 환경교육 프로그램을 도입하기 위한 방안을 마련하였으며, 개발된 프로그램을 적용 후, 지속가능발전에 대한 인식, 필요성, 지식, 실천방법, 태도의 변화를 분석한 결과, 학생들의 지속가능발전에 대한 긍정적인 의식 변화를 보였다. 그리고 참여 관찰 및 면담, 학생들의 포트폴리오를 통해 수집된 자료에서도 미래지향적이고 지속가능한 삶을 위하여, 환경보호에 적극적으로 참여하고, 사회 연대적 책임감을 갖고 인권향상 및 친환경적 소비생활을 실천하며, 육체와 정신을 단련하여 스트레스를 관리하는 등 학생들의 의식 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 환경에 대한 가치지향과 세대간 형평성을 지속하기위한 환경교육을 초등교육과정에서 체계적으로 실시하기 위해서, 지속가능한 생활을 지향하는 로하스와 연계된 환경교육에 대하여 심층적인 연구와 교수-학습 활동에 관한 후속연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the elementary curriculum involved in sustainable development concepts, to search for the solutions on those problems, and to investigate the influences of environmental education program applied to the LOHAS lifestyle contents based on sustainable development concept on conscious changes to the sustainable development for 3rd graders in elementary school. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the way to introduce the LOHAS lifestyles-related contents to accomplish the sustainable development education in three aspects such as environmental, social and individual problems. The environmental problem related to curriculum should include the future environment industry, eco-environmental mind cultivation, an ecology movement, respect and concern for the life, and a diversity of species and preservation. A social problem related to curriculum needs to include the matter of social responsibility of enterprises, the production and consumption of eco-environmental products, and altruism-practical actions. The individual problem related to curriculum should introduce the danger of an unbalanced diet and the necessity of a balanced diet, the way of controlling stress such as yoga and meditation, and help students to pave the way for the future-oriented and sustained sustainable development life. Second, the result of preliminary-post inspection with experiment group shows the positive responses in change of consciousness on sustainable development in terms of recognition of sustainable development, interest, necessity, knowledge, a way of practice, and an attitude. Third, the collecting qualitative research data from observation, interview and students' portfolio show a positive attitude change on students' environmental, social, and individual problems after introducing the environmental education based on sustainable development concept. In conclusion, the elementary environmental education program applied to the LOHAS lifestyle contents based on sustainable development concept has a positive effect on building attitude of students' environmental, social, and individual problems. It is demanded that the elementary environmental education program based on sustainable development concept should be put in practice in curriculum systematically, and more intensive research on this study should be done, linking with teaching and learning method, as a follow-up activity.
