This paper analyzes numeral expressions in Korean, focusing on the word order NQU, QUN and QUGN. Through the corpus-based analysis, the study concluded that there is no single dominant word order of numeral expressions. Formal registers prefer the word order QU(G)N, but informal registers prefer the word order NQU. Especially, literature registers frequently choose the word order QUGN. On the other hand, unitizers (noun classifiers) and numerals also affect the choice of word order. Unitizer ‘kay’ and ‘myeng’ tend to restrict the word order QUN, but this tendency is relatively weak in spoken registers. In contrast, unitizer ‘kaci’ prefers the word order QUN because the meaning of ‘kaci’ affects the word order to make the N element the focus of the construction. Lastly, numeral ‘han’ relatively prefers the word order NQU because the extended usages of ‘han’ tend to choose the word order in which the QU element is the focus.
