초록
Crasborn and Kooij (1997) claim that the orientation parameter for signs of sign languages has to be defined based on the relative relationship between active parts of a hand and their locations (relative orientation), not based on the absolute direction of a palm and fingers in space (absolute orientation). They argue that the relative orientation is better than the absolute orientation in that different forms of a lexical word and morphophonological variation of a morpheme can be unified under the relative orientation. This paper supports the relative orientation of Crasborn and Kooij, with Korean negative suffixes. This paper shows that under the relative orientation, Korean negative suffixes, which are seemingly heterogeneous, can be accounted in a unified way.
