康熙字典과 韓國 初期 字典 比較 硏究

Abstract

The necessity of dictionary has been prevalently recognized for all ages and countries and such recognition has produced diverse books on tools since old times. On the basis of achievement that has been accumulated thus far, diverse books on tools will be produced as the necessity of ages whether in book form or electronic form. The authority, practicality and conciseness are essential properties to dictionary. Thus, it has been required to invest the effort of many people and long time in order to compile dictionary whose authority has been recognized in the aspect of scale and contents for long time. Introduced from China in the early times, dictionary was utilized in Korea. According to diverse historic materials and literature, dictionary was consecutively introduced from the age of the 3 Kingdoms to the age of Koryo and Chosun Compared to other Confucian classic or literary books, the record on the introduction of dictionary was very scanty, but it was confirmed that the Chinese dictionaries were introduced and used in Korea since old times. It can be said that Kang Xi Dictionaryabsolutely affected the formation of dictionary in Korea. Especially, it can be concluded that JaJeonSeokyoand Sin Dictionary were affectedin the aspects of form, sound and meaning, because they were compiled on the basis ofKang Xi Dictionary. This comparative research can be meaningful not only in the field of dictionary science, but also in the sense that it is the basic work for Chinese character science in Korea
