본 논문은 고등학교 『한문Ⅰ』 교과서에서 한문 산문을 제재로 한 단원의 비중이 얼마를 차지하고 있는지, 그리고 그에 따른 학습목표(성취기준)는 어떻게 제시되었는지, 고등학교 현장에서 한문 산문 교육이 어떻게 실시되고 있는지에 대해 그 현황을 파악하여 향후 개정될 교육과정과 교과서 구성의 방향을 찾아보고자 한 것이다. 현장 조사를 통하여 확인한 것은 고등학교에서 산문을 제재로 한 교육은 한문이 어렵다는 인식을 심어주는 요인의 하나로 작용할 수 있다는 점이다. 한문 산문은 교과서 뒷부분에 위치하거나 수업 시수가 부족하여 거의 제대로 다루지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 성취기준의 재분배를 통해 교과서 산문 제재 수록 단원을 줄이기 위한 노력이 필요하다. 대학수학능력 시험 문제를 보아도 산문이 대략 1/3 정도의 비중을 차지하는 것을 보면 산문 제재 단원 축소를 통해 학생들의 부담을 줄여주어야 하고 이야기 구조를 지닌 일화를 중심으로 산문 관련 성취기준을 소화하는 것이 현실적인 방안일 될 것이다. 시대가 변하면 그에 따라 모든 것이 바뀌게 된다. 옛날의 방식이 꼭 나쁜 것은 아니지만 현재 학생들의 흥미와 요구에 맞지 않는 부분이 있다면 그 요구에 부응하는 방법을 찾아보는 것이 옳을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the current status of the proportion of lessons with classical Chinese prose as the theme in high school “classical Chinese I” textbooks, how the learning goals (achievement standards) were presented, and how classical Chinese prose education is practiced in high school settings, and to find out the direction of the education curriculum and textbooks to be revised in the future by grasping the current situation. What we confirmed through field research is that prose themed education in high school can act as one of the factors instilling the perception that classical Chinese is difficult. The reality is that classical Chinese prose is scarcely handled properly because it is located at the back of textbooks or because the number of hours of class is insufficient. To solve this problem, it is necessary to reduce the number of units included in textbooks prose themes through redistribution of achievement standards. Seeing that prose accounts for about 1/3 for the college scholastic ability test questions, it is necessary to reduce the burden on students by reducing the prose theme units, and it would be a realistic way to digest prose related achievement standards centering on anecdotes with a story structure. When times change, everything changes with it. The old way is not necessarily bad, but if there is something that does not fit the interests and needs of current students, it would be right to find a way to meet those needs.
