고등학교 『중국 문화』의 어휘 선정 및 제시에 관한 적합성 연구

Abstract

This study evaluates the suitability of vocabulary selection and presentation methods focusing on new vocabulary in the wordbook of Korean high school textbook 『Chinese Culture』.‘Chinese Culture’ is the advanced subjects of ‘Chinese Ⅰ’ and ‘Chinese Ⅱ’. Therefore, the subject ‘Chinese Culture’ aims not only to understand Chinese culture properly but also to develop Chinese communicative ability. Consequently,『Chinese Culture』should have the suitability of both cultural contents and linguistic contents. In the revised national curriculum of 2015, vocabulary was presented as a key element of linguistic content, along with letters, pronunciation, grammar and communicative expressions. In fact, it is no exaggeration to assert that learning vocabulary plays a decisive role in improving communicative skills. Thus, this study evaluates the suitability of linguistic aspects through new vocabulary in 『Chinese Culture』, particularly whether or not this textbook is suitable for in-depth subjects. The result shows the existing problems in the amount of vocabulary learning, the adequacy of Chinese level, the consistency of vocabulary presentation, and the accuracy of vocabulary explanation. In order to achieve the goal of current textbooks to improve Chinese communicative skills, new vocabulary must be selected and correctly presented according to the Chinese language level of the students who want to complete 'Chinese culture'.
