Abstract

I discussRefusalexpressions by Japanese university students and high school students. The results of my Discourse role tests show: 1. The university students and the high school students use different Semantic formulas and Politeness ofRefusal. 2. The high school students are different from the university students in The FirstRefusal strategies and The SecondRefusalstrategies. 3. The university students and the high school students use differentRefusalstrategies for The Inside I Group and The Inside Ⅱ Group.
