韓国の大学における日本人留学生支援の現状と課題－渡航前の学生を対象に－

본 연구에서는 일본인 학생이 한국 대학에 유학하기 전 준비 단계에서 겪는 불안과 어려움을 밝히고 한국 대학의 입장에서 현 상황을 재검토하여 문제점에 대한 해결책을 검토하였다. 이 연구는 학생이 보다 적극적으 로 안심하고 유학을 실현할 수 있도록 하기 위한 질 높은 지원 체제의 구축과 향후 유학생 수의 증가에 대비 한 업무의 효율화를 도모하기 위한 제1단계 조사이다. 이러한 연구 성과는 한국 대학의 포괄적인 유학생 수용 지원 시스템 구축을 위한 기초 자료가 될 것으로 생각된다. 그러나 실제 현장의 업무 체제를 개선하고 업무의 효율화를 도모하기 위해서는 부서 내, 부서 간, 대학 전체의 합의를 얻는 것이 중요하다. 또 유학 지원은 유학 준비 기간 뿐 아니라 유학 중 및 유학 후까지 일관되게 이뤄져야 한다. 향후 과제로는 보다 상세한 조사를 통 해 유학 지원에 대한 학생의 인식을 명확히 하고 유학 후의 진로까지 고려한 한국 대학의 지원 체제를 검토하 여 일본인 유학생 수용의 양적 확대 및 유학의 질적 향상을 목표로 하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study examined the concerns and challenges faced by Japanese students as they prepared to attend a Korean university, as well as the current issues and potential solutions from the viewpoint of the host institution. This research is the first step in developing a top-notch support system that enables students to study abroad more actively and confidently, as well as to raise the productivity of university operations in anticipation of a growth in the number of international students in the future. The results might be viewed as the fundamental information for developing an extensive system of support for international student admission in Korea. However, it is crucial to form a consensus within the department, between departments, and the institution as a whole in order to genuinely enhance the work structure in the relevant area and improve the efficiency of the work. Additionally, a consistent support program for students must be offered not just during the preparatory phase but also during and after their study abroad experience. Future research will have to aim to better understand students' perceptions of the support schemes for studying abroad through a more thorough investigation, review the assistance program as a host university that seriously cares about students' future career path, thus increasing the number of international students hosted while enhancing the study abroad experience's overall quality.
