大江健三郎『みずから我が涙をぬぐいたまう日』論 ―「天皇制」からの脱却と「母性原理」への転換
A Theory on Kenzaburo Oe's The Day When My Tears Are Wiped Away -A Breakaway from the "Emperor System" and a Shift to the "Maternal Principle"-

Kenzaburo Oe's The day when my tears are wiped away was a masterpiece written in response to Yukio Mishima's suicide. Using psychoanalytic theory, the article argues that the author meant to heal the emotional wounds of the Japanese people under the national structure of the Emperor's death. Through conversations with the analyst's mother and wife, he identifies the analyzed subject with his father (the emperor), frees him from the traumatic memories, and finally achieves maternal salvation and mental regeneration. In other words, Oe dismantled the rationality of Western "androcentrism" by embracing the "maternal principle" of Eastern culture, and further negated the "emperor culture" as a social system based on the unbroken eternal lineage.
