短期「旅行日本語」授業のコースデザインと実践 ─実際に使える旅行日本語の習得を目指して─

新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行が終焉を迎え、昨今の日本旅行ブームの中、筆者は2022年度に大学の付属機関が開設する、短期の旅行日本語の授業を担当することとなった。既存の教材を概観してみると、実際の旅行で使える日本語を効率的に学べそうなものが見当たらなかった。そこで、まず、既存教材を詳しく分析した結果、場面や登場人物の設定などが実際の旅行における接触場面とはかなり異なることが明らかになった。また、特に実際の旅行場面で必要な「聴解力」を身につけられるような練習がほとんど見当たらなく、必要最小限の「読む」「書く」などの活動も乏しかった。そこで、これらの問題点を踏まえ、実際に使える旅行日本語とは何かについて考察を行った。 本稿は、その考察をもとに、「短期間で実際の旅行場面で使える日本語を習得すること」を目標にコースデザインを行い、それに基づいてシラバス・教材を作成し、授業実践および評価を行った結果をまとめ、報告するものである。
Abstract
With the end of the novel coronavirus pandemic and the recent boom in travel to Japan, I will be in charge of a short-term travel Japanese class that will be opened by a university affiliated institution in 2022. When I looked over the existing teaching materials, I couldn't find anything that would allow me to efficiently learn Japanese that would be useful for actual travel. First, a detailed analysis of the existing teaching materials revealed that the settings of the scenes and characters were quite different from those encountered during actual travel. In addition, there was hardly any practice that would allow students to acquire the listening comprehension skills necessary for actual travel situations, and there was also a lack of activities such as the bare minimum of ``reading'' and ``writing.'' Therefore, based on these issues, we considered what kind of travel Japanese can actually be used. Based on that consideration, this paper designed a course with the goal of ``learning Japanese that can be used in actual travel situations in a short period of time,'' created a syllabus and teaching materials based on that, and used it for class practice and evaluation. This report summarizes the results of this study.
