문화 확산의 관점에서 본 울릉도와 전라남도의 관계

오랜기간동안 거주가 허용되지 않았던 울릉도의 상황을 정확히 밝히기 위해 울릉도 검찰사가 임명되었고, 1882년 검찰이 이루어졌다. 이규원 검찰사는 육로와 해로를 통해 12일간 울릉도를 검찰하면서 검찰일기를 작성하였고 이 속에 이규원검찰사가 만난 사람들에 대한 자세한 기록을 하였다. 당시에 가장 많이 머물렀던 사람들이 전라도 지역민이었으며 따라서 전라도와 울릉도의 관계를 분석하였다. 비록 절대 거리는 멀었으나 풍부한 임산자원과 수산자원은 전라도민을 울릉도로 향하게 하였다. 결론적으로 전라도에는 울릉도의 영향을 받은 유형, 무형의 문화가 지명, 가옥건축, 생활문화 등에 나타났으며 이는 재입지확산의 결과이다.
Abstract
Royal Inspector Rii, Kyu Won was appointed by King Kojong to inspect the Ulleung islands in 1881. While he went to the island for the inspection in 1882, he wrote an Inspection diary in Ulleung island in very detail including whom he met and why they are staying in the island. In the diary, most people them came from Jeolla-do and this record is possible to analize the relation between Ulleung island and Jeolla-do. Although the physical distance is too far away, people from Jeolla-do went to Ulleung island because of rich forestry resources and seafoods. As a result of relocation diffusion, tangible and intangible culture in Jeolla do, especilly Heungyang, Cho-do and Samdo, expressed in place names, housing materials, life culture, etc.
