Abstract

Around the change of the century started, Article atmosphere and artistic zeitgeist also came a change. The 20th century composers felt doubts about exaggerated feelings of romantic and needed a new spirit. It was called “the neoclassicism” seeking the essence of the classical era music. After the 20th century, A variety of musical forms had coexisted thesedays. Stravinsky was presented in various directions of the early 20th century modern ballet. The research about Stravinsky’s neoclassical music is very important to understand the current polystylism features and identify their roots. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to analyze how the Stravinsky's neoclassical ideology was reflected in "pulchinella". Choreographer, Massine was communicating with the audience free and realistic motions away from the technology and the redemption of ballet. Composer, Stravinsky was trying to maintain his individuality and tradition.
