GIS를 이용한 강원 평화지역 지오파크(Geopark) 거점시설 최적지 선정에 관한 연구

Abstract

A variety of groundwork should be laid for the creation of Gangwon Peace Geopark. Among others, the establishment and operation of core facilities in Geopark should certainly run parallel since they serve as a regional medium in delivering information on Geopark, relevant training session, and all kinds of trial programs to tourists. There are a number of local governments, which are paying attention and having access to a movement to create and certify Geopark, not only in Gangwon Province, but also regions ranging from Gyeongsang Province to Jeolla Province. However, there has been no case study on the location of relevant facilities, with regard to core facilities in Geopark, in the country. The core facilities in Geopark have not been newly constructed, but established and operated in the existing facilities, in other words, museums, tourist information offices etc. Consequently, this study, targeting Gangwon Peace Geopark, selected valuation criteria for factors like nature and social environment, and made a GIS spatial analysis based on the existing facilities available. As a result of analysis, six optimal regions were selected within the region of Cheorwon, Yanggu and Goseong County, which are expected to be of great help to establish core facilities in Gangwon Peace Geopark, and to be used as the fundamental data to a site selection for core facilities in the prospective case of creating a Geopark in other regions than Gangwon Peace Geopark.
