서울시 중구 필동지역 인쇄업의 분업체계와 협력 공동체 특성 연구

본 연구는 서울시 중구 필동지역에 집적해 있는 인쇄업의 지역적 특성을 밝혀 보고자 한 것이다. 연구 결과는 크게 네 가지로 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 필동지역 인쇄업의 입지요인은 지리적인 면에서 서울시 도심부의 중추지역에 위 치하고 있다는 점이다. 필동지역의 인쇄업은 실질적인 다양성의 이점을 가지고 있는데, 이는 고객들의 요구 조건들을 맞 출 수 있는 경쟁력이 되고 있다. 둘째, 필동지역 인쇄업체의 조직 측면에서는 단일 공정 업체와 다 공정 업체로 분류할 수 있다. 셋째, 필동지역 인쇄업 생산연계의 공간구조는 긴밀하게 생산연계가 이루어지고 있는 집적된 형태이다. 다수의 소규모 업체들은 공정 순서에 따라 분업체계로 연계되어 있다. 또한 인쇄업체 간 거래관계에 있어서 상호신뢰성이 중요 하게 작용하고 있으며, 이를 강화하기 위한 대면접촉이 필요하기 때문에 지리적으로 집적된 형태가 유지되고 있다. 넷째, 필동지역 인쇄업에는 다양한 협력 공동체가 네트워크를 이루면서 활동하고 있다. 필동지역 인쇄업 집적지는 오랜 역사를 통해서 다양한 인쇄 서비스를 제공하고 있는 만큼 산업 생태계가 구축되어 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to identify the regional characteristics of the printing industry agglomerated in the Pil-dong area of Jung-gu, Seoul. The research findings can be summarized into four main points. First, the location factor of the printing industry in the Pil-dong area, is that it is situated in the central area of the city, geographically close to Seoul’s core region. The printing industry in this area benefits from practical diversity, which provides a competitive advantage in meeting the demands of customers. Second, in terms of organization, the printing businesses in the Pil-dong area can be classified into single-process and multi-process companies. Third, the spatial structure of production linkages in the Pil-dong area’s printing industry is a agglomerated form with tightly integrated production connections. Many small businesses are connected through a division of labor system based on the sequence of processes. Also in business relationships between printing companies, mutual trust plays a crucial role. To strengthen this trust, face to face interactions are necessary, which is why a geographically agglomerated setup is maintained. Fourth, in the Pil-dong area, the printing industry is driven by various cooperative communities that form networks and work together. The printing industry cluster in the Pil-dong area has a established industrial system, owing to its long history and the wide range of printing services it provides.
