전이학습 관점에서의 여성 결혼이민자의 직업교육과 취업 경험에 대한 사례연구: 이중언어강사를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 여성 결혼이민자들의 직업교육 참여와 취업 경험을 적응, 성장, 차이, 저항이라는 전이학습 과정을 통해 드러내고 그 의미를 깊이 있게 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 초, 중, 고등학교에서 근무하는 4명의 이중언어 강사를 대상으로 한 심층면담, 참여관찰 등을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 Wildemeersch와 Stroobants(2001)가 제시한 전이학습 과정을 이론적 틀로 이용하였으며, Yin(2013)이 제시한 사례통합을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 직업교육과정에서 ‘적응’은 기대와 자신의 능력에 대한 의구심, ‘성장’은 교육에 대한 필요성과 선택에 대한 만족감과 자신감으로, ‘차이’는 상황에 따라 방법을 강구, ‘저항’은 비판적 성찰로 나타났다. 취업경험에서의 ‘적응’은 수업에 대한 걱정, 한국 선생님들과의 거리감, ‘성장’은 가르치고 배우면서 성장, ‘차이’는 학생들의 요구와 특성을 알기 위해 노력함, ‘저항’은 사회의 편견과 제도에 맞서 재도전으로 나타났다. 연구참여자들에게 직업교육은 한국인으로서의 새로운 출발점이 되었고, 진정한 나를 찾음으로써 삶의 전환점으로 작용하였다.
Abstract
This was the case study about the vocational education and work experience of married female immigrants. The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning of their experiences more deeply by illustrating the transitional learning process(Wildemeersch & Stroobants, 2001) which includes adaption, growth, distinction and resistance. To accomplish the purpose, the researchers used Yin(2013)’s case study method. Data that was used for this study includes face-to-face interview with 4 bilingual language instructors in elementary school, junior high school, and high school: As well as participant's observation, and participants' work journals. The common thing found about married female immigrants is they come to Korea with different hopes, motives and expectation and at the same time, they face cultural and social difficulties by going through adaptation. But, they overcome these difficulties by receiving a vocational education, participating in economic activities, and planning a new life for them and their family.
