초록

본 연구의 목적은 Vallerand 등(2003)의 영문판 열정척도와 이 척도를 특정상황에 맞게 변용한 척도들을 참고로 하여 태권도 선수들의 열정을 측정할 수 있는 열정척도를 개발하고 타당화 작업을 하는 것이다. 척도개발은 태권도 선수 353명을 대상으로 이루어졌으며 탐색적, 확인적 요인분석을 통해 구인타당도를 검증하고 준거변인들과의 상관관계 분석을 통하여 준거타당도를 검증하였으며, 신뢰도분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 주요 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 탐색적 요인분석을 통하여 기본열정 5문항, 조화열정 6문항, 강박열정 6문항을 추출하였다. 17문항 3요인 척도는 양호한 신뢰도 값을 얻었으며, 확인적 요인분석을 통해 3요인 구조를 확증하였다. 또한 본 척도의 수렴타당성과 판별타당성도 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 운동열의, 의도적 연습, 운동의존성 하위요인들과 본 연구에서 개발된 3요인들 간의 상관관계분석을 통하여 준거타당도를 확보하였으며, 입상실적과 운동경력에 따른 열정의 차이검증을 통하여 실험법에 의한 구인타당도를 입증하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a passion scale for measuring the passion of Taekwondo athletes by referring to the English passion scale of Vallerand et al. (2003) and the scale that adapted this scale to the specific situation. The scale development consisted of 353 Taekwondo athletes. The construct validity was verified through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and the criterion-related validity of the scale was verified through the correlation analysis with the criterion variables. The main results were obtained. First, through the exploratory factor analysis, 5 items of basic passion, 6 items of harmonious passion and 6 items of obsessive passion were extracted. 17 item 3 factor scale obtained a good reliability value and confirmed the three factor structure through confirmatory factor analysis. Convergence validity and discriminant validity were also found to be good. Second, criterion-related validity was secured through the correlation analysis between the athlete engagement, deliberate practice, and exercise dependence sub-factors and the three factors developed in this study. Through the result of analysis of the difference of passion according to the winning performance and the athletic career, we also established construct validity by experimental method. The findings offer some initial psychometric evidence for the use of Taekwondo Passion Sclae(TPS).
