초록
The aim of this study is to analyze the patterns of preschool children’s intersubjective cooperation and their use of mental state terms in pretend play and task-oriented work situations and to examine their mental state terms in both situations when the pattern of intersubjective cooperation varies. For this study, the linguistic behaviors of 40 four -year-old children enrolled in three different preschools were recorded on video both in pretend play and task-oriented work situations. The entire transcription of the videotaped content was analyzed with the use of measuring devices for intersubjective cooperation patterns and mental state terms. The findings of the study indicate that pretend play and task-oriented work situations entailed differences in children’s patterns of intersubjective cooperation and use of mental state terms. They also show that, in the two situations, there were differences in the use of children’s mental state terms depending on their intersubjective cooperation patterns.
